If At All Possible - Avoid Sweating
- On a really hot day this may be near impossible, but you may be able to time treatment sessions or other activities accordingly in order to avoid excessive sweating for 3-5 days after your treatment.
- As you sweat the pores of your skin will reopen, and the bacteria on your skin may enter the skin punctures.
- This can possibly lead to either an undesirable reaction or infection. If unsure discuss this with your aesthetic practitioner.

Avoid The Use Of Make Up Directly After Treatment
- It is very important to let your skin “breathe” for 24 hours after the procedure.
- Appropriate products will be used immediately after your treatment.
- Ensure that you follow your aesthetic practitioner’s guidelines on which products to use on your skin as aftercare.
- Using a makeup brush that has been used before while your skin’s channels are still open, can contaminate the skin and, consequently, lead to infections.
- Ensure that you use clean make-up brushes for your make-up the first week after your dermapen treatment.

Be Careful Of Products Containing Active Ingredients For Days After
- Be sure to inform your aesthetic practitioner of all the products that you use at home.
- Active ingredients may include (but are not limited to) Retinol and Alpha Hydroxy Acids for example.
- Products that contain these may irritate the skin and may have to be avoided for your particular skin type and or treatment plan.
- In certain scenarios however it may be exactly what you need in order to obtain your desired results.
- It is therefore imperative that you find an experienced aesthetic practitioner to appropriately guide you.
