There are surprising uses of Botulinum Toxin you didn’t know about.

Botulinum is a popular cosmetic procedure, world-over! Most people immediately think of smoothing wrinkles and fine lines but Botulinum is used for skin-enhancing and is used for a number of non-cosmetic procedures as well.

Botulinum Toxin is used in Aesthetic medicine to treat the glabellar area – also known as the frown, the forehead for wrinkles, crow’s feet around the eyes, the chin and neck area. In this instance Botulinum Toxin can be used as treatment and or prevention of lines and wrinkles due to overactive muscle groups.

In my practice medical Botulinum Toxin is used very effectively to treat overactive sweat glands known as hyperhidrosis on the hands and in the axillae.  It is also used for migraines, tension type headaches, neck muscle spasms and  jaw clenching.
